Name Six

From Great Big Book of Children’s Games:  Over 450 Indoor and Outdoor Games for Kids by Debra Wise

Form a circle.  Begin passing around a beanbag or something.  One player, the leader, stands outside the circle and calls out a letter of the alphabet.  The person holding the beanbag when the letter is called must name six things that begin with the letter before the beanbag travels back to him.

Whether or not the player can come up with the answers in time, he remains in the circle and the beanbag keeps moving.  When the beanbag is in a new player’s hands, the leader calls another letter.  (The leader has to keep an eye on the ball, making sure to call out the letter when it reaches someone who hasn’t yet had a chance to answer.)

After all players have had a change to answer, the ones who failed to call out their six words in time drop out and the game begins again with a smaller circle.  The last player to be able to name six before the beanbag comes around again is the winner.

You can change the “six” to another number, depending on the size of the group.
