Shovelboard

From Great Big Book of Children’s Games:  Over 450 Indoor and Outdoor Games for Kids by Debra Wise

Table sized shuffleboard.  Coins are used as pucks and they are shoved by a stiff 12-inch ruler.

Poster board has an “out of play” border on left and right sides.  At the far end, there is a “high score” region and below it, a “low score” region.  The remaining 60% of the board closest to the player is labeled “no score.”

This game can be played one on one or in teams.  Each player or team has 4 coins.  The round is over when both players have played all 4 pucks.  Two points are awarded for any coin in the high-scoring area, one point for the low-scoring area, and no points for anything else.  The game ends when a player reaches a chosen point value.  Alternately, play could end after a given number of rounds.
