Valentine Trivets
Cut out rubber
hearts the
size of the bottom of a typical serving dish.
I got this pink rubber that was carpet padding and it’s
about ½-inch
thick. In fact, I have tons of it if
anyone from Willow Brook wants to use some.
Cut out a matching heart from red craftfoam.
Drill holes around the edges, matching the holes between the
rubber and the craftfoam. Give the kids
a piece of thin ribbon about 3 feet long and thread it into a yarn
needle. Let them sew the two hearts
together and tie
a bow at the top. Make sure you drill
the right number of holes that the ribbon comes out on the same sides. Then have the kids write in permanent marker
one of these sayings:
“I love
you sew much!” or
“I’ve got the HOTS for you.”
